Before you continue reading I want you to come to a conclusion about this pair of shoes. Do you like them? Do you hate them? Do they not elicit any particularly intense emotion from you at all?
I'm serious....
Stop cheating....
Are you sure that's what you think?
These shoes have been quite a hit in both directions. Some people think they represent the epitome of a winter staple in combination with individualism. Others think the wool flaps are too showy and impractical. Others still have nearly gotten run-over trying to decipher them.
This is—in my opinion—an example of when you've got to be okay with the fact that not everyone will understand your style choices. This friends, is not an excuse to get crazy, but leeway for stylistic freedom.
These are probably among the most fun pair of shoes I own. I happen to love the wool flaps because they're both warm and soft. I think the string ties pair much better with the wool than would a zipper or a strap. I also happen to be perfectly okay with—quite literally— stopping traffic.
Fondly,
The Style Scribe
